Welcome back to The Crown Informer! Much like last week, this will be a fairly extensive roundup of everything that I’ve written since the previous entry. This includes more Twigs reviews for The Walking Dead: Dead City, a Warrior Nun essay, and the long-awaited return of Vanish. So, without further delay, let’s jump right in!
Summertide: A Poetry Collection - Hardcover Edition
This is a reminder that the hardcover version of my first ever poetry collection, Summertide, is now available! I wrote most poems in this collection over the course of the summer of 2021. Others were written years prior but revised and edited for this collection. I’m so happy to finally be able to provide a hardcover version for those who prefer that format. You can purchase a hardcover version of Summertide: A Poetry Collection by clicking the link below:
If you prefer to purchase the book in Paperback or Kindle eBook format, you can also do so below. Be warned, though, Kindle eBook may look a little strange due to the way the poetry translated from my manuscript to the Kindle document. However, all content is still there.
If you want to read the longest poem in the collection, “Lexicon,” you can do so below:
If anyone needs any international links to purchase Summertide, please feel free to reach out to me on Twitter. You may also be able to find it by searching my name on Amazon. Thank you all for the support!
WEEKLY WORDS
Frayed Branches
This week, I had the honor of writing two essays for shows that were cancelled before they had a chance to finish telling their stories (and one that was saved by an incredible fanbase). First, I analyzed the symbolism behind the Serpent in Raised by Wolves and how it relates to the show’s commentary on religion and mythology. Then, I did a deep dive on Beatrice from Warrior Nun and her fight to be the person she wants to be. You can read these essays by clicking the links below:
Raised by Wolves: The Horned Serpent
Warrior Nun: Beatrice’s Struggle
There will be two more essays next week as well. While I’ll be taking a week off from Raised by Wolves to write an essay about a show I caught up with recently, I have plans for a few more essays in the coming weeks and months for the series. As for Warrior Nun, I’ll be writing my final character essay about Ava on Thursday. Though not my final Warrior Nun essay overall, since I’ll then be analyzing the themes of the series as a whole starting on Thursday, August 31st.
Twigs
For Twigs this week, I took a look at the cinematic masterpiece that is Oppenheimer, as well as the season finale of The Walking Dead: Dead City. I also talked about how much fun I had watching Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One. You can read all my reviews at the links below:
The Walking Dead: Dead City Episode 6
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One
Much more variety coming to Twigs next week, with 2-3 more reviews arriving in the coming days.
Vanish
At long last, Vanish has returned! “Episode 3: Greenfair High” is now available to read! Vanish will continue to have regular updates every Friday for the foreseeable future. I’m hoping that, by the end of the year, this will have increased. However, with chapters that hover around 5-6k words each coupled with the 8-10k words I post on a weekly basis (without including my Screen Rant articles!), it remains to be seen when I’ll be able to do it without compromising the quality of the story.
Vanish is also now available on Archive of Our Own! Some people who’ve followed me have recommended the site as a good place to post stories. And while the site has a focus on fanfiction, original work is also allowed. So, Vanish chapters will be posted to both sites in the future, so you can use whichever is easiest to read it! Links are below:
Episode 3: Greenfair High
Episode 4 will be longer than this latest chapter. Probably by a good margin.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Mechanomica & The Lunaris Fulcrum
In last week’s Crown Informer, I said a trailer for Mechanomica would arrive on Monday, August 7th at 7 PM EST. However, because I don’t want too many things on YouTube overlapping at once—and to keep any scheduling conflicts from arising—I’ve decided to change things around.
The trailer for Mechanomica will premiere on Sunday, August 13th at 7 PM EST. I’ll be pushing the next episode of The Lunaris Fulcrum back to Monday, August 21st. While you’ll have to wait a week longer to discover the mystery behind Mechanomica, trust me when I say the wait will be worth it!
