Welcome back to The Crown Informer! Today’s roundup of things I’ve written will be quite extensive. I also have some announcements for the next few weeks that I’m excited to share with you all. However, those will have to wait until the end of today’s newsletter. So, let’s jump into everything new that’s happened since the previous entry!
Summertide: A Poetry Collection - Hardcover Edition
The hardcover version of my first ever poetry collection, Summertide, is now available! I wrote most poems in this collection over the course of the summer of 2021. Others were written years prior but revised and edited for this collection. I’m so happy to finally be able to provide a hardcover version for those who prefer that format. You can purchase a hardcover version of Summertide: A Poetry Collection by clicking the link below:
If you prefer to purchase the book in Paperback or Kindle eBook format, you can also do so below. Be warned, though, Kindle eBook may look a little strange due to the way the poetry translated from my manuscript to the Kindle document. However, all content is still there.
If you want to read the longest poem in the collection, “Lexicon,” you can do so below:
If anyone needs any international links to purchase Summertide, please feel free to reach out to me on Twitter. You may also be able to find it by searching my name on Amazon. Thank you all for the support!
WEEKLY WORDS
Frayed Branches
The last two weeks of Frayed Branches has been focused on Warrior Nun character essays (more on that in the Announcements section). Last week, I analyzed Michael Salvius and his connection to death in the series. This week, I wrote about the bravery of Yasmine and my personal view of her introduction and character development. You can read these essays by clicking on the links below:
Warrior Nun: Michael Salvius and the Deceit of Death
Warrior Nun: The Bravery of Yasmine
I’m hoping to get back to doing two essays a week starting next week, with a Raised by Wolves essay on Tuesday and a Warrior Nun essay on Thursday. We’ll see how long it lasts, but I’m hopeful that it will help bring more variety to Frayed Branches as the summer comes to a close (Already? Wow).
Twigs
Much like how Frayed Branches has been very Warrior Nun focused these last few weeks, Twigs has been very The Walking Dead: Dead City focused. I reviewed episodes 4 and 5 these last few weeks. Do note that there are spoilers in my reviews.
The Walking Dead: Dead City Episode 4
The Walking Dead: Dead City Episode 5
There will be more variety in the coming weeks, as I have a few movies that I’ll be writing about (including one review coming out a few short hours after this latest Crown Informer).
The Lunaris Fulcrum
The Lunaris Fulcrum feels like it’s gotten away from me a little bit. While I promised I would have a new video out the second Monday of every month, it seems the third Monday as become the new norm. I’ll be trying to rectify that in the future. For now, though, you cann watch the latest episode of the series, titled, “FULCRUM SAFETY VIDEO (2025)” below:
Click here for a playlist of every video in The Lunaris Fulcrum to get caught up on the story so far. You can also read my short story, “Moon Husband,” to get more context about the series.
If all goes well, the next episode of The Lunaris Fulcrum will be released on August 14th, 2023. If all doesn’t go well, then the next episode will be out on August 21st, 2023.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Warrior Nun Essays
As I mentioned on Twitter less than an hour ago, there are only two more character essays left that I’ll be writing about Warrior Nun for the foreseeable future. On July 27th, I’ll be writing about Beatrice, and on August 3rd I’ll be writing about Ava. Those essays will both be out on their respective days at 5 PM EST. Despite Twitter throttling Substack posts because it sees the site as competition, you’ll be able to find them pinned to my Twitter profile.
Following my final character essay (for now) about Warrior Nun, I will be releasing a 3-part essay series about the themes of the show. This will begin at the end of August and continue weekly until everything I want to write about has been…well, written about! While the essay series is “3 parts,” I expect each “part” to take 2-3 essays each to write about. I’ll also be taking a week off between each “part,” as I expect each individual essay to be somewhere between 5-6k words each (so 10-12k words per “part”). They may be shorter, but I doubt it given the extensive subjects I’ll be covering throughout.
My Warrior Nun thematic analysis essays will begin on Thursday, August 31st. So even though I’ll be done with character essays, you should stick around. Because those are just the beginning!
Vanish
Because of…well, everything else that I do…Vanish has unfortunately taken a backseat. I believe I may have launched the project too early, but this is honestly the story I’m most excited to write about because of the many characters and plotlines I have planned for it. While the length of the first two chapters indicates I’m just not going to be able to keep up with my 3 chapters per week plan, I’ve managed to find the time to ensure Vanish won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
Starting Friday, July 28th, a new chapter of Vanish will be posted on Wattpad every week. I’ll be slowly trying to build up to three chapters a week over the course of its first story arc. In addition to posting Vanish on Wattpad, its current home, the story will be mirrored on Archive of Our Own and one other site in the future. It’s the same story no matter where you read it, but it will be available on multiple platforms so you don’t have to worry about making new accounts in different places to get an update.
If you would like to follow Vanish on Wattpad, though, feel free by clicking here.
Again, very sorry for the rough launch. I unfortunately have so many projects going on at once that Vanish ended up being the one to fall through the cracks. I’m hoping that, with its new weekly release schedule, there won’t be any more issues.
Mechanomica
What is Mechanomica? Find out on Monday, August 7th at 7 PM EST, when a trailer for the project arrives on my YouTube channel! You don’t want to miss this.
