Hello everyone! And happy 2024!
The Crown Informer returns yet again, bringing you all the writing and fun stuff I’ve been up to over the last week. Since this is the first installment in 2024, I’ve decided to utilize it not only to showcase what I’ve released over the last two weeks, but also to offer a timeline of releases for the rest of the year. Please note many of these announcements were already made on Twitter and Facebook, and so may be familiar to you. However, there have been some small adjustments made to two ongoing projects (the Warrior Nun essays and The Lunaris Fulcrum) to better showcase what to expect.
So, without further delay, let’s get into what 2024’s brought so far, and what’s coming next!
WEEKLY WORDS
2022 Part II: A Poetry Collection - Poems
My new poetry collection, 2022 Part II, will be available to purchase on Amazon starting February 14, 2024! In honor of its fast-approaching release, I have been posting poems from the collection on Twitter/X and Facebook on Tuesdays and Fridays at 6 PM EST. This will continue until the collection gets released! You can take a look at the poems available so far with the links below (please note these are links for Twitter/X).
As mentioned above, new poems for 2022 Part II will be posted on Twitter and Facebook Tuesday and Fridays at 6 PM EST.
Mechanomica
We’re currently in the second arc of my ongoing Warrior Nun sci-fi fanfiction Mechanomica. The Lux Ultima Arc is taking a whole new turn in the latest chapters, with the most recent being a bit of a departure in structure compared to previous ones. Check out the newest chapter below:
Mechanomica is released every Sunday on Archive of Our Own, with plans to slowly introduce a regular Sunday and Wednesday release schedule later this year.
Twigs
My review series, Twigs, continues with a couple of movies I hadn’t talked about yet that arrived at the end of 2023. One of these is also Night Swim, the first major release of 2024 that I went to see. You can check out the reviews for each of these movies by clicking on their names below:
Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire
Twigs reviews usually come out whenever I feel like it, but if I’ve seen something in theaters or on a streaming service that gets released on a weekend, chances are I write about it the Monday after. Everything else could be at any time.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
What to Expect in 2024
This section is mostly going to be a ramble, so if you want to read a more concise version of this, check out my thread on Twitter/X below:
The only edits I will say have had to be made due to time constraints (and, admittedly, more passion for some projects over others) includes the following:
“What Warrior Nun Says About Religion [PART 4]” will be released later this month
The Lunaris Fulcrum’s next episode will be some Monday before January ends.
Beyond that, here are the projects I’m happy to not only re-announce here, but to say are on track to be released when I’ve envisioned them to!
Haha, okay, so:
I definitely jumped the gun on starting Vanish last summer. I underestimated the amount of work it would take and got sloppy by not building a chapter backlog. However, I do want to continue the story of its post-apocalyptic world.
Which is why Vanish will be returning on January 26, 2024! By the time you're reading this, work on Episode 5 has already begun! There will be regular releases on Fridays, with the hope of building up to 2-3 chapters per week over the course of its first story arc.
Vanish is a story I've had planned ever since I was in high school. It's gone through many changes since, but it's a story about human perseverance I really want to share in the years to come. I'm hopeful about its direction next year and the journey Alex will be going on soon!
In Summer 2024, I'll be releasing my next full-length horror novel, In the Back-Closet. Details will be kept under wraps until the release date is closer. This one is probably gonna be the weirdest book I've ever written. But maybe that's up your alley?
Much later this year, I'll be releasing a new novella. This won't be until near the end of the year. But, much like many of my other published works, it's another horror book.
Details to come later this year.
[INFORMATION REDACTED]
I'll also be introducing new ways to monetarily support my writing very soon! This includes extra words and enhanced access to some stories for supporters. All free projects will remain free! This is just an option for anyone looking to support and get exclusive stuff.
More information about monetary support options and future projects will be revealed soon!
Weekly Schedule
Every week, I’ll be posting my weekly schedule here before anywhere else, as a bonus of exclusivity for The Crown Informer subscribers.
As you can see, this week will include two Twigs entries about TV shows—the first in quite some time—as well as the official, for real this time return of the “What Warrior Nun Says About Religion” essay series. I’ll also be trying my hand at getting two chapters of Mechanomica out this week, especially given how long I’ve been waiting to really dig into this part of the story.
Finally…
Last of all, I just wanted to thank everyone who has been supporting my work so far. 2023 was a wild year for me and my projects, many of them in the Warrior Nun sphere. I am so grateful for both the fandom for the show as well as those interested in all my creative projects. I wouldn’t be doing this with as much fiery passion as I do without all of you. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. So, so much.
Here’s to a productive 2024, filled with plenty to see and plenty to do!
